Leading the Academy Foundation is an honor and a solemn responsibility , especially when the Rule of Law faces unprecedented challenges. We are proud to collaborate with and support organizations and individuals on the front lines in defending democracy and civil and human rights. Every effort we make drives meaningful change, protects fundamental freedoms, and reinforces the values that define a just society. With your continued support, we will remain a force for good.
The Academy’s lesson of greatness teaches us that, if we are to fulfill the responsibilities that accompany the gifts we have been given, and if we are to fulfill the mission of our Academy, we must go forward with our heads up and our eyes ever open to recognize what more needs to be done. And then we must do it.
When you talk about the Rule of Law, you can't talk about it in abstract because the Rule of Law needs to be just, it needs to be based upon democratic principles, and it needs to be smart.
